The Federal Ministry of Education has condemned the killing of  Hanifa, a pupil in a private school in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State. According to the statement credited to the Minister of education, Adamu Adamu, the Ministry condemns the act in all ramifications.

…If a child can not be safe in the hands of his/her teacher, where else can the child be safe. This is an assult on the entire teaching profession and must not be allowed to happen again. the minister queried

He however applauded the steps being taken by the Kano state Government to address the ugly incident.

“We are watching this National tragedy very closely and we are interested in seeing that justice is not only done, but explicitly seeing to be done. We sympathize with the parents of the innocent baby and pray that Allah condoles them in the best way possible- Adamu reiterated.

The Kano State Government had earlier announced the revocation of operational license of all private school in the state following the incident.

According to a report in Vanguard on the 25th of January, the proprietor of Noble Kids Academy, where the deceased schooled Abdulmalik Tanko had confessed to the murder while answering questions on his involvement in the crime in the court. see full story on Vanguard

According to reports, Tanko, had kidnapped and killed little Hanifa Abubakar, after collecting N6 million ransom.
