Fountain of Grace Integrated Services on Wednesday 25th May 2022 launched Academic Forest, a web application that with many opportunities. The innovation would allow stakeholders to access all resources, human or material needed for effective education service delivery. The event which was attended virtually was transmitted live from their Apo Kaura office in Prince and Princess Estate Abuja.
Explaining the web application, Mr. Kingsley Chiatyo, the Executive Director, Academic Forest pointed that the app is designed with many opportunities, for school owners to access whatever resources they desire, material and human to facilitate academic infrastructures and effective learning, for learner to access free lesson, donors to support school development in rural areas, career opening for teachers and news portal for education news.
“The shop feature on Academic Forest allows school owners, parents and students to order for materials. There is also the donation feature that allows people who desire to make donations to support schools in specific locations for effective learning to be able to do that seamlessly with the help of academic forest.” Kingsley said adding that “the app also carries features like career opportunity which creates a point of connect for teachers and other career persons for employment. Through this feature school owners can access these persons and professionals to work and teach effectively.”
Also unique in the features of Academic Forest is the ‘Pay Small Small’ feature which allows users to pay for items at their pace, the news blog which provides an all round news updates on education; this also allows schools to send news worthy items to be published in the news blog.
All items bought or donated on the platform are delivered expressly to any location. The app also allows schools to request for support or donation according to their peculiar needs and donors are exposed to these needs and make informed decision as to which need to support at a time.
This innovation did not live students out of it as it also houses the Fountain Education Empowerment Development (FEED) video lesion for learners to see and learn for free. Indeed the Academic forest, is a forest it many opportunities for all stakeholders in the education sector.
