Yabatech gets acting rector
The Chairman of the Governing Council, Yaba College of Technology, has approved the appointment of Uduak Inyang-Udoh as acting Rector of the college effective from Monday, January 30, 2023.
Chairman of the Governing Council, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, on behalf of the Council said the appointment was pending the appointment of a substantive Rector.

UNILORIN begins virtual lectures for large classes
The management of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State has said that it has assigned 500 user accounts of 300-capacity zoom licences to its various faculties and departments for the immediate commencement of virtual classes.
A statement released to the media on Monday by the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, said that the virtual classes would run simultaneously with physical classes.
The statement pointed out that “about 500 user accounts of 300 capacity zoom licences have been assigned to Faculties and Departments for effective virtual delivery of lectures.”

JAMB Makes Provision Of Personal E-Mail Compulsory For Registration
THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that, from 31st January 2023, no candidate would be registered without the provision of an email address.
This was conveyed in a statement by the Head, Public Affairs and Protocol of the Board, Dr Fabian Benjamin on Monday, saying the Board noted that this review of its advisory on the ongoing UTME registration was to ensure that best practices are followed in the process of capturing all relevant data pertaining to the candidates.

Suspected landgrabbers take over Lagos school
Hoodlums suspected to be landgrabbers have sealed off Shalom Group of Schools, a private school consisting Shalom Nursery and Primary School and Cedar College in Baruwa, Lagos, claiming to be owners of the school’s land.
More than 100 pupils were seen in front of the school on Monday morning carrying placards with various inscriptions such as ‘Save our school; I came to school this morning only to be denied access; we want to learn‘, among others.
