CCII discloses 33 indigent beneficiaries of Governor Makinde’s education grant
The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has disclosed that 33 indigent students from Oyo state have benefited from Governor Seyi Makinde N10m donation into its scholarship scheme.
The beneficiaries were unveiled at the Monthly General Assembly of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes on Friday, February 3, 2023.
Its President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga, commended Governor Makinde for his good gesture to the indigenes.

Obaseki Set To Build World Class Library With 50 Million Volumes
Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on Friday announced that his administration had put all modalities in place to deliver a world-class library that would be made accessible to Edo school children.
The library, upon completion, Obaseki said, would house 50 million volumes of academic materials.
Governor Obaseki stated these at the ground breaking ceremony of the Education Hub held at the Edo State Ministry of Education at Iyaro, Benin Edo.
The governor said the proposed building remained one of the breakdowns of the system and transforming the system without fixing the structure would not speak well of the development in the sector.
“We are here today at the groundbreaking ceremony of the education hub, but coming here reminds us that education broke down in Edo State just like all this building. Deterioration in education in Edo State equates to the type of deterioration that you see in this building on this premises.

Quality education solution to illegal migration, trafficking – Edo
The Edo State Government has said quality education which EdoBEST offers will end illegal migration and youth unemployability.
A statement by the Edo State Ministry of Education stated that Governor Godwin Obaseki unveiled the EdoBEST reform programme in 2018 to address the challenge of poor learning outcomes and youth unemployability, which were the root causes of illegal migration and people trafficking in the state.
Likewise, it stated that the Economist had recognised EdoBEST as a working model for basic education service delivery.

Tech-based teaching will reform schools, says Bayelsa
The Bayelsa State Government has said the newly introduced BayelsaPRIME will revolutionarise teaching and learning in Bayelsa state-owned primary schools.
A statement signed by the Bayelsa Ministry of Education stated that the BayelsaPRIME (Bayelsa Promoting Reform to Improve and Modernise Education), was the flagship of the basic education reform programme of the Senator Douye Diri-led administration.
It read, “The programme which is executed by the Bayelsa State Ministry of Education and the Bayelsa State Universal Basic Education Board will use technology-based teaching methods and proven modern classroom management techniques as tools to improve pupil participation in classroom, learning outcomes and school attendance.”

Reviewed curriculum, e-books will promote learning – Sanwo-Olu
The Lagos State Government has said its reviewed Lagos State Unified Schemes of Work, learning devices and specialised e-books will promote deep learning for learners.
Speaking at the unveiling, Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Secretary to State Government, Mrs Folashade Jaji, stated that the Lagos curriculum was holistically examined and it was re-engineered to meet the demands of modern education, without veering off the national benchmark provided by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council.
