Secretary-General of The Committee of Vice -Chancelors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNUs), Prof Yakubu Ochefu, has disclosed that a decision will be made regarding varsity curriculum review in the next committee meeting of Vice Chancellors.
Prof Yakubu Ochefu revealed this progress while speaking with Nigerian Tribune in an exclusive interview, noting that that the committee is yet to officially discuss the new curriculum but will do so and take a definite position on it in its next general meeting in August.

Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has dissolved the Governing Council of the Benue State University, BSU, Makurdi, with immediate effect.
According to a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, the governor also constituted a 7-man Visitation Panel with the mandate to, among other things, thoroughly audit the activities of the university from 2016 when the last panel visited.

Europe-bound teenage student, female lawyers, others nabbed with illicit drugs
A 19-year-old student, Benjamin Nnamani Daberechi, has been arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for attempting to export 7.2 kilogrammes of methamphetamine concealed in crayfish to Europe where he was going for undergraduate studies.
The teenager was intercepted last Wednesday during an outward clearance of passengers on Turkish Airlines flight TK 0624. While being interviewed by operatives, Daberechi claimed he was a student on his way to Cyprus for studies, but upon a thorough search of his luggage, he was found in possession of 7.2kg of whitish substance neatly concealed inside a sack of crayfish. A field test of the substance, however, proved positive to methamphetamine.

Gov. Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has said that age should not be viewed as a barrier to achieving educational goals, adding that one of the requirements he had to meet in order for his desire to become governor in 2022 to be approved was that he finish his schooling.
Adeleke spoke at the combined 9th undergraduate and 5th postgraduate convocation ceremonies of the Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, on Sunday, where 75 postgraduate and 537 undergraduate students were conferred with various degrees.

Court directs ABU, staff to file terms of settlement.
The National Industrial Court on Monday urged the management of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and its 110 employees to proceed to file their settlement terms.
