With the unemployment rate increasing across the country, many young Nigerians are heeding the wrong narrative about the relevance of education. To many of them, education, which is often touted as the pathway to success, is now a time-wasting effort that no longer proves crucial as an edge in securing jobs, as millions of graduates chase after a few thousands jobs in a country where job racketeering, favoritism, and cronyism largely play a big role in employment.

ProU Education, Africa’s higher learning institution and early career management platform, has launched an App to aid candidates’ preparation for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

New varsities’ curriculum, CCMAS, takes effect from September 2023 — NUC

The National Universities Commission, NUC, Wednesday, disclosed that the new university academic curriculum, known as Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards, CCMAS, will begin in September 2023.
The Acting Executive Secretary of the commission, Chris Maiyaki, who made the disclosure at the Colloquium of Stakeholders on the CCMAS, in Abuja, explained that the CCMAS reflects a global perspective that would equip the nation’s graduates with the 21st Century knowledge and wherewithal that transcend traditional boundaries.

THE University of Calabar (UNICAL) has approved the appointment of Rose Ugbe as Acting Dean of the law Faculty.
President of UNICAL Law Students Association (LWASA) Benedict Otu confirmed this to The ICIR on Wednesday, August 23.

“Yes, the appointment was made yesterday,” he said.
The appointment comes after the suspension of former Dean Cyril Ndifon over allegations of sexual harassment and highhandedness, among others.
