FCET Gusau gets new provost

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr (Mrs) Hauwau Mukhtar Abdulkarim as the substantive provost of Federal College of Education (Technical) Gusau in Zamfara.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Director of Protocol and Information Unit FCET, Gusau, Aliyu Umar said the appointment took effect from 1st August 2023.

ATBU elects new Deputy Vice Chancellors

The Management of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi has elected Professors Sani Usman Kunya and Ahmad Sarki Fagam as Deputy Vice Chancellors Academics and Administration respectively.
In its special meeting held on Tuesday, 22nd August, the two Professors emerged after a keen contest against Professors Nanmwa Voncir and Samaila Idi Ningi, respectively.

UI students react as management increases accommodation fee

Lifted, who resides in Awo Hall, said: “It is an outrageous step and highly uncalled for. We cannot see any renovations or reconstruction done in the hostels.

UK-based Nigerian, Adekanmi bags Prowess varsity honorary doctorate award

A UK-based Nigerian businessman, Hammed Adekanmi, has been conferred with an honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration by Prowress University, Delaware, USA.
The award was presented to Adekanmi on Saturday during the Annual Leadership Summit, Induction, and Honorary Doctorate Degree Award organised by the University and held at the University of Lagos, Lagos State, in recognition of his achievements in Industrial and humanitarian excellence.

Bola Tinubu has urged a U.S. court to conceal his Chicago State University (CSU) records because his reputation as Nigerian president is at risk of further being tainted by Nigerian bloggers, court filings obtained by Peoples Gazette show.
Mr Tinubu has fiercely opposed an application for order to direct discovery of his CSU credentials, claiming that releasing them is tantamount to arming Nigerian bloggers with information to discredit and weaken his reputation.

Slash boarding fees, address deplorable infrastructure, S’West Unity Schools’ PTA urges FG

THE South-West zone of the Unity Schools Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) has appealed to the Federal Government to slash downward boarding school fees, saying that an astronomical increase will adversely affect children’s welfare when they resume this week.

BayelsaPRIME: Expectations high as schools resume today

OVER 41,000 public primary school pupils across four local councils in Bayelsa State are set to continue their journey to exceptional learning outcomes as schools resume on August 28.
The pupils are the first set of beneficiaries of the state government’s basic education reform programme, BayelsaPRIME, which was introduced in 222 public primary schools in February.
