NAF trains education officers on innovative teaching, learning

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has organised a training on improving innovative teaching and learning for its education officers, quality assurance officers and Head Teachers of its primary schools.

Declaring the training open on Tuesday in Jos, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), said that the exercise was timely.

Represented by Air Commodore Garba Bello, the Commandant, Air Police Training Centre, Kerang in Plateau, Abubakar said that the training was part of his philosophy anchored on “Deliberate Training and Mission-Oriented Force Development.

FCT Education Board Begins Sensitisation Of Parents

he FCT universal basic education board says it will commence sanctions on parents who deprive their children of their right to basic education.

The acting director and executive chairman of the board who disclosed this at a debate competition involving schools in Abuja, says the sanctions will be in accordance to the Universal Basic Education act.

It houses a considerably high number of out of school children in the nation as reported by the United Nations children’s fund in 2019.

China begins deliberation on law to expand access to preschool education

On Monday, legislators of the People’s Republic of China commenced the deliberation of a preschool education law aimed at ensuring accessible preschool education for all children.

The draft legislation was presented to the legislators for discussion during the current session of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. The Minister of Education of China highlighted issues such as the difficulty of enrolling children into kindergartens due to exorbitant fees, which are unaffordable for the majority of China’s population.

The Ministry of Education and UNESCO today launched an innovative comic book aimed at enhancing health and well-being of school going children across the nation. The comic book, titled “Let’s Move Forward,” was officially released by Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, in a special ceremony held at Kaushal Bhawan in New Delhi.

The event was graced by senior government officials, policy makers, institutions under the Ministry of Education, UN Agencies, and other partners.

Fairfield’s School of Education and Human Development is finding solutions to the national teacher shortage.

According to recent data, public school education in the United States is in crisis. Last year, a National Center for Education Statistics survey of nine-year-old students showed “the largest average score decline in reading since 1990, and the first-ever score decline in mathematics.”

Meanwhile, school systems are struggling to attract and retain qualified teachers and other professionals. In a national survey by Education Week, nearly three-quarters of principals and district officials said they began this school year understaffed.
