Police arrest 10 suspects over FUOYE student’s death

The Ekiti State Police Command, on Thursday, said it had arrested 10 suspects in connection to the death of a student of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Modupe Deborah.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abutu Sunday, made the announcement via the command’s handle on X (formerly Twitter).

Sunday added that the late 200-level nursing student of the institution was declared missing within the school premises on 5/09/2023.

School refutes allegation of sexual assault on minor

The management of Greater Scholars Group of schools, Lagos, has dismissed claims that a staff of the school sexually assaulted a four-year-old female pupil.
  
In a statement by its founder, Mrs Bola Oyesanya, she said in the last four months, a couple, Mr and Mrs Olusola, have launched media campaign against the school, alleging that their child was sexually assaulted by one of its security personnel. Groups launch ‘Superhero Campaign’ to empower indigent children

Foundation trains 150 pupils in coding, presents laptops, cash gifts to winners

About 150 pupils drawn from across Lagos State participated in this year’s Olusegun Coding Class camp, organised by Oluwasegun Idowu Foundation in collaboration with Foster Prime schools, Obalende, Lagos.

Methodist old students shop for N250m development fund

To restore the lost glory of the school, old students of Methodist High School, Ibadan, are currently shopping for N250m for renovation of old buildings and construction of new facilities.

National President of the association, Dr Lekan Abioye, while addressing journalists on the forthcoming reunion of members scheduled for December 8 and 9, at Lead City Hall, Lead City University, Ibadan, said apart from revisiting the boarding system by renovating existing structures, they also want to build and equip a science laboratory for the students. Constitute governing council for Edo varsity, ASUU tells Obaseki

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has appealed to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State to constitute a governing Council for the institution to enable it function properly.

The union urged the governor to stop the frequent meetings by the Special Intervention Team (SIT) in the institution, saying allowances of STI members have taken a toll on the financial resources of the university. Overall best student in Ondo school wins N2.5m VDT scholarship

As a reward for her hardwork, Joy Omoyeni, the best graduating student at Telnet International School, Akure, Ondo State, and overall best student in the state has been awarded a scholarship by VDT Communications.

Omoyeni had A1 in all nine subjects in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), scored 338 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME),1400 in Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and 58 out of 60 in post-UTME at Covenant University for Computer Engineering. Fees hike: Police teargas, disperse protesting UNILAG students
