Pupil, 14, stabs five at Spanish school

A 14-year-old, described by fellow pupils as hot-headed, on Thursday stabbed three teachers and two students in a school in southern Spain before being overpowered, police said.

Withheld Results: University graduate attempts suicide in Edo

A graduate of Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, Edo State who is identified as Precious Ogbeide, has reportedly attempted suicide over the alleged university’s refusal to issue him and several other students their results after they graduated from school in 2018.

But the school, through the Head of Corporate Communications and Protocol, Mike Aladenika said that the students affected by certificate and result issues might have had issues with some courses during their time in school. TETFund to increase rates of Nigerian lecturers on its foreign scholarship programme

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, has proposed an increase in the rates of living expenses to Nigerian lecturers studying in foreign institutions under the TETFund Scholarship for Academic Staff, TSAS, programme with effect from the 2023/2024 Academic year.

TETFund promises to address plight of lecturers on foreign scholarships

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) says it is addressing the plights of some Nigerian lecturers studying in foreign institutions under the TETfund Scholarship for Academic Staff (TSAS) programmes.

The assurance was given in a statement by TETFund spokesman Abdulmumin Oniyangi on Thursday. It said the lecturers were requesting a bailout to cater for shortfalls in their living expenses occasioned by fluctuations in foreign exchange.
