Nigerian teachers deserve living wage —Rights group

THE executive director of Education Rights Initiative, Dr Solomon Udah, has asked the Federal Government to stop paying lip service to the education sector, especially the teaching profession, which he noted has suffered neglect overtime.

Nigerian varsities lag behind in digital learning strategy —IFC repor

A new report by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has indicated that Nigerian universities are lagging behind in global best practices in application of digital learning strategies, access to large multidisciplinary databases and digital course-reserves as well as the level of faculty digital skills.

The report, which centred on the National Employ ability Benchmarking Exercise, also showed that the aggregate average score of Nigerian benchmarked institutions across the five dimensions of employability is 2.3 out of 4.0, which IFC said was just above the average of all institutions benchmarked globally (2.2). Oyo govt restates commitment to tackling shortage of teachers

THE state government has reiterated its determination to recruit more teachers into primary schools in the state in no distant time to address the issue of acute shortage of teachers in the sector.

Students protest 5 months of power blackout, threaten to boycott exams at KASU

Students of Kaduna State University (KASU), Kafanchan campus, have staged a peaceful protest against five months of power blackouts in their school and have threatened to boycott the second semester examinations if electricity is not restored.

Hospital refutes allegations of negligence over death of TSU student

The management of the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Jalingo, in Taraba State, has denied claims that its medical experts were negligent in the treatment of a 400-level student of the State University, TSU.
