Street to School program kicks off in Delta creeks, as EBF donates items to schools

Over 1000 primary and secondary school students in three schools in the riverine areas of Delta state received free school bags, note books, mathematical sets and other writing materials in the ‘Street to School’ programme of the Earnest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF).

Lagos teacher wins African Union continental prize

KWASU management says no plans to hike tuition fees

Economic hardship: ABUAD effects 35% salary increase for all workers

Nigeria: Minimum Wage – Bayelsa Teachers Issue 14-Day Strike Notice

Rising from an executive meeting of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Friday in Yenagoa, the state capital, the teachers said their grievances arose from the inability of both state and local governments to implement the N30,000 minimum wage and promotion of primary school teachers in the state.

The union in a statement signed by some branch chairmen, including Ikiba Izibenidie, Chairman NUT Yenagoa Branch; Ekereke Aruaman, Chairman NUT Ogbia; Tarabina Ebikibina, Chairman NUT Kolokuma/Opukima; Amakiri Idibiye, Chairman NUT Nembe, stated that the 14-day ultimatum took effect from Friday, October 13, adding that failure to address the issues within the period would force teachers in the state to go on strike. ECOWAS and WFP Provide Support to Cabo-Verde National School Feeding Programme

The Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS) has contributed US$ 1 million to provide daily nutritious meals to 90,000 school children in Cabo-Verde during the 2023-2024 school year. This contribution comes from ECOWAS’ Regional Food Security Reserve built up in February 2013 to respond to food security crises across the region.
