The Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) has initiated the construction of a 500-capacity lecture theatre and wash facilities at Adamawa State University, Mubi. This development follows the university’s selection as a recipient of the ASR Africa Tertiary Education Grant Scheme (TEGS) by the Board of Directors of the initiative.

Dr. Stephen A. Lagu, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, expressed gratitude to Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA group and ASR Africa, for his philanthropic gesture towards the university. He highlighted the significance of this intervention in addressing the infrastructure deficit and promoting sanitation and hygiene on the campus.

The project, which includes a 500-seat lecture theatre and four boreholes strategically located within the campus, was identified and agreed upon by the relevant organs of the institution in collaboration with the ASR Africa team. This demonstrates a collaborative effort towards enhancing the learning environment and student welfare at the university.

Dr. Ubon Udoh, MD/CEO of ASR Africa, commended the institution for meeting the rigorous selection criteria set by the Board of Directors. He emphasized the importance of proper utilization and maintenance of the facilities, urging both management and students to appreciate the grant bestowed upon them by ASR Africa.

The Tertiary Education Grant Scheme is part of Abdul Samad Rabiu’s commitment to giving back to the African continent and making a lasting impact in education. ASR Africa, established in 2021, aims to provide sustainable solutions to developmental issues affecting health, education, and social development within Africa, under the leadership of Abdul Samad Rabiu.
