Tragedy struck the northeastern Nigerian state of Adamawa as at least 42 children fell victim to a devastating outbreak of measles, according to a report by SaharaReporters on April 28, 2024. Dr. Umar Garba Pella, the Commissioner of Education and Human Capital Development, confirmed the closure, stating, “Yes, we have ordered the closure of all schools – whether public or private at secondary and primary levels.”
