Law students from Lagos State University (LASU) have emerged triumphant as winners of the National Inter Faculty Competition, showcasing their exceptional legal acumen and intellectual prowess on a national stage.

The highly competitive event, organized by Redeemers University in Osun State and drawing participants from universities across Nigeria, saw LASU students rise to the occasion, clinching victory in a contest themed ‘The Legal and Ethical Implication of Emerging Technology’.

According to reports shared by the official LASU handle on X, the competition encompassed various stages including essay writing, asynchronous debate, memorial writing, and mooting, challenging participants’ critical thinking abilities and teamwork.

Representing LASU with distinction were Kodjovi Daniel in the essay writing stage, while Aina Ayomide, Abdulquadri Ajeniya, Bolajoko Animasaun, and Akinrinde Fredrick showcased their debating prowess in different rounds of the competition.

Expressing pride in the achievement, Akinwunmi David, President of the Student Advocate Association at LASU, hailed the victory as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and brilliance of the students. He emphasized their remarkable intellectual prowess, which brought laurels to the institution.

In a related development, LASU further solidified its academic dominance by emerging victorious in the southwest inter-tertiary debate organized by the National Association of Nigerian Students. Competing under the theme ‘Clash of Thoughts’, LASU stood out among contenders from prestigious institutions across the region.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, recognized and rewarded excellence within LASU, announcing a generous reward of N10 million for Aminat Yusuf, the institution’s overall best-graduating student of the 2021/2022 academic session. Yusuf, a shining star from the Faculty of Law, graduated with a perfect Cumulative Grade Point Average of 5.0, earning accolades and admiration for her outstanding achievement.

Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commendable gesture underscores the state government’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and celebrating the remarkable achievements of LASU students.
