The Archdeacon of Agege and Vicar of Christ Church Anglican, Elere – Agege, Tunde Owoyele, has urged other societies within the church to follow the example set by the Christ Morning Society Lagos Chapter in extending philanthropic aid to the needy and indigent members of their communities.

Owoyele made this call during a ceremony where educational grants were presented to children of society members to support their educational pursuits. The initiative aims to alleviate the financial burdens faced by students in their quest for academic advancement.

The State Public Relations Officer of Christ Morning Star, Tunji Oguntuase, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.

“It gladdens my heart to present these cheques as educational grants by the society. I strongly call on other societies in the church to emulate this gesture to the children of members,” remarked Owoyele, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in supporting the education of young individuals within the community.

According to Owoyele, the educational grants will significantly contribute to easing the challenges often encountered by students in pursuing their academic goals. He commended the Christ Morning Society Lagos Chapter for their noble initiative and encouraged other church societies to follow suit.

In response, the President of CMS, Lagos Chapter, Segun Sobowale, affirmed that the provision of educational grants to deserving children is one of the society’s commendable projects. He assured that the scheme would be implemented in phases, reflecting the society’s commitment to supporting education within its community.
