In a solemn ceremony marked by tears and grief, the burial of four-year-old Miguel Ovoke, a pupil of BrickHall School in Abuja, took place today, Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Gudu Cemetery in the nation’s capital.

According to reports from PUNCH Metro, Miguel tragically lost his life during a lunchtime incident at school. He was rushed to the Excel Specialist Hospital after choking on a piece of meat. Despite the swift response of the medical team and efforts to resuscitate him, Miguel was declared dead upon arrival on April 24.

The hospital’s medical report confirmed the heartbreaking news, stating that all attempts to revive the young boy were unsuccessful, leaving his family and the school community devastated by the loss.

Both the management of BrickHall School and the Parents Teacher’s Forum expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family, acknowledging the tragedy as a heart-wrenching event. They praised the school’s trained nurse for her prompt response and decision to transport Miguel to the hospital but lamented the inability to save his life despite the efforts made.

The burial ceremony was attended by family members, friends, and sympathizers, who gathered to pay their final respects to Miguel and offer support to his grieving loved ones.

As Miguel Ovoke is laid to rest, the community mourns the loss of a young life taken too soon, and the memory of the cheerful pupil will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
