The National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has launched its student loan application portal, now active and available to students of federal tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

To apply, students need to register on the NELFUND website, www.nelf.gov.ng, verify their educational and personal details, and complete their profile. Essential documents, such as an admission letter, must be uploaded during the application process.

The student loan policy, first enacted by President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, in June 2023, was initially set to launch in October but was postponed until April 2024. The application portal officially opened on May 24, 2024.
