Governor Ahmadu Fintiri announced on Wednesday that Adamawa State will soon have three new comprehensive technical colleges. The announcement was made during his fifth anniversary state-wide broadcast, highlighting the state’s commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and skills acquisition for school-age citizens.

“We are paying special attention to skills acquisition as well as science and technology. In this regard, I am happy to announce that we have commenced the process for the construction of three new comprehensive technical schools,” Fintiri stated. He explained that each senatorial zone in the state would have one of these colleges, with one dedicated exclusively to girls.

Governor Fintiri emphasized his administration’s significant achievements in the education sector over the past five years, driven by a passion for improving educational access and quality. “We believe that addressing the Out-of-School syndrome, providing free education, paying WAEC and NECO fees for our candidates, building and furnishing new schools, and recruiting more teachers will ease the economic burden on parents,” he added.

The governor expressed optimism that these initiatives would not only alleviate financial pressures on families but also equip youths with the skills necessary to overcome poverty. The establishment of the technical colleges is part of a broader strategy to enhance educational infrastructure and promote vocational training in Adamawa State.
