Two students from the Federal Polytechnic in Bida, Niger State, were found deceased in a room at the FMC Quarters in Bida town, located within the Bida Local Government Area.

The individuals, identified as Mr. Bam and a female student named Aisha, were discovered in the morning when they were not seen after daybreak.

Report has it that the tragic deaths may have resulted from consuming poisonous food. The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident yesterday, stating that upon receiving the complaint, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of B Division in Bida led police operatives to the scene.

Upon arrival, they found the door to the room forcibly opened, revealing the bodies lying on the floor in the sitting room. The discovery of leftover food and tablets at the scene prompted authorities to take these items for medical analysis.

Despite no signs of struggle or violence observed on the bodies, the incident remains under investigation. The corpses were subsequently transported to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Bida for autopsy.

The community mourns the loss of these young lives, and the investigation seeks to unravel the circumstances surrounding their tragic deaths, offering condolences and support to their families and loved ones during this difficult time.
