The Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has suspended Mr. Adeniyi Olutayo Ayodele, Head Teacher of St. Philips CAC Nursery and Primary School, Erio-Ekiti, for two months over illegal fee collection.

SUBEB Executive Chairman, Prof. Femi Akinwumi, announced the suspension in Ado Ekiti, stating that Ayodele confessed to collecting unauthorized fees, including N25,000 from 28 primary six pupils and N8,000 from primary four pupils, despite previous warnings.

Akinwumi described these actions as sabotage against the state’s free and compulsory education policy.

Ayodele is required to hand over to the most senior assistant head teacher, report to SUBEB headquarters, and refund the collected fees to parents.The chairman reiterated Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to basic education development and warned against unauthorized charges in public primary schools.
