Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has promised improved security at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara.

This commitment follows the rescue of 29 students abducted from the campus on May 9, 2024. Governor Ododo assured that the university’s perimeter fencing would be completed within 16 weeks, and enhanced security measures, including round-the-clock surveillance and emergency response, would be implemented.

He emphasized his administration’s dedication to providing a safe learning environment and combating criminal activities in the state.

The Governor also pledged to honor the two students, James Anajuwe and Caleb Musa, who were killed during the abduction. State Commissioner for Education, Honourable Wemi Jones, commended the Governor’s swift action and reassured that efforts would be made to prevent future incidents.

CUSTECH Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulrahaman Salawu, expressed gratitude for the Governor’s support and pledged the university’s cooperation in its development initiatives.
