The ongoing 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (internal), conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO), has registered no fewer than 1,376,391 candidates.

Prof. Dantani Wushishi, the Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, expressed satisfaction with the examination’s conduct, attributing the smooth process to various measures implemented to reduce malpractice.

Prof. Wushishi, who monitored the examination in several states, including Edo, Delta, and Anambra, praised the efforts of stakeholders and encouraged candidates to work hard for good grades, emphasizing that “there is no shortcut to success.” He also highlighted the extension of NECO exams to countries like Togo, Benin Republic, and Saudi Arabia, reflecting the international acceptance of NECO certificates.

The 2024 NECO SSCE, which began on June 19 and will conclude on July 25, sees candidates sitting for 76 subjects, marking a significant educational event both within Nigeria and abroad.
