The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and Associated Institutions (NASU) will commence a protest in Abuja on Thursday.
Starting at 8 am from Unity Fountain, the protest will march to the Office of the Minister of Education, Mamman Tahir, to address grievances regarding the non-payment of their four months’ salary from when they joined ASUU’s industrial action in 2022.
Despite President Bola Tinubu’s directive to pay the affected staff, SSANU and NASU members have not received their salaries months later, prompting the planned protest.
Without last-minute interventions, the unions will proceed with the demonstration to demand immediate action and resolution of their outstanding payments.
