The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye in connection with the murder of Idowu Christianah, a 300-level student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

The arrest was confirmed by Lagos State Police Spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, who noted that Adeleye was handed over by the Nigerian Army on September 5, 2024. The case has gained significant public attention, with many calling for justice on social media under the hashtag #JusticeForChristianah.

Adeleye, a 200-Level Philosophy student at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), is accused of abducting and killing Christianah along Ikorodu-Yaba Road in Lagos last month.

The police have stated that investigations are ongoing, amid claims that Adeleye may have been involved in similar incidents in the past, including the deaths of his ex-girlfriend in 2018 and his sister in 2020.
