Secondary students from Ibadan, Oyo State, participated in a week-long training on the Ubuntu methodology.

The students, from Government College, Queen’s School, Baptist Secondary School, and the University of Ibadan, engaged in sessions focused on Ubuntu’s principles, including ethics of care, bridge building, and servant leadership.

The training, organized by Instituto Padre António Vieira (IPAV)/Ubuntu Leaders Academy with support from Eureka Learners Foundation and the Oyo State Ministry of Education, concluded with a ceremony at Government College, Ibadan. Participants explored key Ubuntu concepts through interactive activities, storytelling, and film screenings, gaining insights into self-knowledge, empathy, and leadership.

Senior trainers from Kenya facilitated the program, which aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of Ubuntu philosophy and inspire commitment to servant leadership. The Ubuntu Clubs will celebrate the 79th United Nations General Assembly from September 22-26.
