The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, has revealed that Nigeria ranks first among African countries in the number of students studying in the US.
Speaking at the 23rd Annual EducationUSA College Fair in Abuja, Mills stated that over 17,600 Nigerian students attended more than 970 US institutions last year, with Texas being the most popular state for Nigerian students.
Emphasizing the critical role of education, Mills said it is key to fostering economic growth, improving health, and promoting gender equality in Nigeria. He stressed that a prosperous Nigeria is beneficial to both nations, and education is the foundation for this progress.
