CIRCO, a global initiative from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, has launched in Nigeria in collaboration with the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of Pan-Atlantic University.
The initiative, unveiled in Lagos, aims to enhance circular business practices in the country and establish CIRCO Hub Nigeria as a key driver of sustainable change.
Consul General Michel Deelen stated that CIRCO focuses on empowering entrepreneurs and creative professionals to redesign products and business models with sustainability at their core. This hub, the first of its kind in Africa, seeks to position Nigeria at the forefront of the circular economy movement, promoting innovative and sustainable business practices.
Natalie Beiniscn, Executive Secretary of the Circular Business Platform, emphasized that the hub will equip Nigerian businesses with essential tools and knowledge to transition to circular models, thereby reducing waste and regenerating natural systems. Nneka Okekearu, Director of EDC, highlighted the partnership’s potential to combine expertise and vision for a sustainable future in Nigeria’s entrepreneurial landscape.
