Success Ayagwa, a 400-level student at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) in Kaduna, completed a five-hour 64-kilometre run challenge on Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, starting at 5 a.m. and finishing at 10 a.m.
This is the second consecutive year Success has celebrated Nigeria’s independence with a notable run, having completed 63 kilometres last year. His coach, Sergeant Wayo Emmanuel, who discovered his talent two years ago, praised his progress and determination, noting his impressive 7th place finish at the Okpekpe road race.
AFIT’s Director of Public Relations, Wing Commander Bassey Okon, commended Success’s resilience, emphasizing that his achievement reflects the institution’s commitment to nurturing young talent and inspiring students to excel in all areas of life.
