Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has received accolades for his significant developmental initiatives across various sectors, particularly in education and agriculture, as the state approaches its gubernatorial election.

Osabinu Olufemi, National Coordinator of the Nigeria in Safe Hands Project and former President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), highlighted Aiyedatiwa’s accomplishments since he took office in December 2023.

Key achievements noted by Olufemi include the clearance of a N3.2 billion backlog of gratuities owed to pensioners, the recruitment of over 2,000 teachers, and the underwriting of WAEC fees for public school students. Additionally, Aiyedatiwa has allocated N335 million for bursaries and scholarships while implementing rural road construction projects to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic activity.

As the November 16, 2024 election approaches, Olufemi emphasized the potential significance of Ilaje Local Government Area in the state’s political landscape, urging residents to support Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy. He described this support as a “divine arrangement,” positioning Aiyedatiwa to potentially become the first deputy governor in Nigeria to be democratically elected as governor.
