MTN Nigeria recently welcomed students from the Rome Business School to its headquarters for a study trip focused on sustainability practices within the telecommunications sector.
The visit aimed to equip future global business leaders with insights into how telecom innovations are shaping Nigeria’s economy and creating new income opportunities for citizens.
During the event, Friday Okuwe, Senior Manager of Brand, Media, & Sponsorships at MTN, highlighted the transformative role of the telecommunications industry in Nigeria, noting its impact on bridging the literacy gap and connecting the nation to the global community.
He emphasized MTN’s evolution from a traditional telecom company to a technology-driven firm, adapting to the changing needs of consumers.
The discussions also addressed data protection and employee commitment. Okuwe assured that data privacy is a top priority for MTN, citing the recently established Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. Vivian Omoregbe, Manager of Employee Experience and Change, spoke about MTN’s Employee Value Proposition, emphasizing the company’s dedication to employee growth and well-being as integral to its success.
