The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has reiterated its dedication to advancing innovation in Nigeria’s basic education through research and smart technology integration. This was emphasized during the inauguration of the Research Management Committee on Tuesday in Abuja.

Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, UBEC’s Executive Secretary, highlighted that the Commission’s research efforts are aligned with Nigeria’s goal of achieving a technology-driven education system. He stressed that all research initiatives supported by UBEC would contribute towards building a smart educational framework to enhance learning outcomes.

Prof. Bashir Galadanci, National Coordinator of the UBEC Digital Resource Centre, urged the committee members to collaborate in ensuring the successful implementation of smart education initiatives. The committee’s Chairman, Prof. John Gbenga Adewale, pledged the members’ commitment to supporting UBEC’s vision.

UBEC has actively driven digital transformation in recent years, establishing model smart schools across all 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory, as part of its strategy to modernize Nigeria’s education system.
