Soroptimist International of Ikeja, a Non-Governmental Organisation, has provided financial assistance to five female students from Isheri Grammar School, Lagos.

Each beneficiary received a cash gift of N50,000 to help cover their NECO and WAEC examination fees. The students—Ukwome Favour, Omoniyi Oluwaferanmi, Akpara Blessing, Oladimeji Oluwapelumi, and Akpan Eno Gift—were selected based on their financial circumstances.

During the presentation ceremony, Funke Salako, President of Soroptimist International of Ikeja, highlighted that this initiative aims to alleviate educational challenges faced by girls globally, particularly in light of the International Day of the Girl Child. “We did this from the little we have to help these girls achieve greater academic heights,” she remarked.

The Principal of Isheri Grammar School, Mrs. Abighe Elo, expressed her gratitude, noting that the selection criteria focused on the beneficiaries’ family backgrounds and financial hardships. “While the selected students are intelligent, their financial circumstances were a key consideration,” she explained.
