Nigerian Breweries Plc has awarded Esomnofu Ifechukwu of Crown Grace School, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, with a cash prize of N10 million for winning the 10th edition of the Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition.

In addition to the cash prize, Ifechukwu will receive an all-expense-paid overseas capacity development training and a N30 million infrastructure upgrade for his school. Kehinde Olukayode of Molusi College, Ogun State, and Aniefiok Udoh from Community Secondary Commercial School, Akwa Ibom, emerged as first and second runners-up, receiving N3 million and N2 million respectively. State Champions from 34 states were also rewarded with N1 million each.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, praised Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund for its commitment to education. He also lauded teachers for their unwavering dedication to shaping future generations.

Hans Essaadi, Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, emphasized the competition’s mission to recognize and honor teachers for their invaluable contributions to society.
