Premiere Academy, Lugbe, Abuja, in collaboration with Girls Learning Network, hosted a two-day empowerment event for its female students to mark this year’s International Day of the Girl-Child.

The event, themed “Girls Vision for the Future,” featured a range of activities including keynote speeches, panel discussions, film shows, and artistic presentations, all aimed at promoting female empowerment and resilience as crucial components for nation-building and global peace. The event took place at the school’s Multi-purpose Hall from Thursday to Friday last week.

In his opening remarks, the Principal of Premiere Academy, Mr. Chris Akinsowon, emphasized the importance of the Girl-Child Empowerment Series, an annual initiative of the school’s Standing Committee on Girl-Child Protection and Grooming.

He noted that the school’s philosophy focuses on providing students with interactive platforms to express their aspirations and empowering them with opportunities for holistic growth. Mr. Akinsowon highlighted that since the school’s founding in 2005, its mission has been to nurture well-rounded, socially conscious, and responsible students who will contribute positively to society.

Guest speaker Mrs. Eva Osode, a parent at the school, encouraged the students to cultivate bold, resilient, and responsible characters to meet the demands of their future roles in society. She praised the event organizers for their innovative blend of education and entertainment, which enhanced the event’s impact on the students.
