The Psycho-Spiritual Institute (PSI), owned by Lux Terra Leadership Foundation, has been licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to award a Postgraduate Diploma in Psycho-Spiritual Trauma Healing and a Master’s degree in Psycho-Spiritual Therapy.

The institute, affiliated with Veritas University, Abuja, aims to address Nigeria’s growing mental health concerns through an integrated approach combining psychology, spirituality, and cultural perspectives.

Prof. George Ehusani, Executive Director of the foundation, emphasized the urgency of this initiative, given the rise in mental health issues such as depression, psycho-trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorders fueled by political and economic challenges.

He explained that the training would focus on holistic personal development, preparing therapists who will emerge as “healed healers” capable of offering effective therapeutic support.

The Nigeria campus has already enrolled its first students, with 13 pursuing the Master’s program and 30 enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma. This initiative has been praised by mental health experts, including Andrew Zamani, former president of the Nigerian Psychological Association, as a timely step toward bridging mental health gaps in the country.
