The West African College of Physicians (WACP) has launched a medical outreach program at the Pilot Science Primary School in Kuje Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), aiming to bring essential medical services to underserved communities.

WACP President Dr. Rose Macauley emphasized healthcare access as a fundamental right, stating, “Today’s outreach is a lifeline for many who have been unable to access regular medical care.” She commended the college for integrating this outreach into its pre-Annual General and Scientific Meeting activities, marking the first such initiative on a regional scale for WACP.

The program provides free medical consultations, health screenings, and treatments for residents who face barriers to healthcare access due to financial or logistical issues. Dr. Macauley urged the community to engage with healthcare providers and seek continued care.

Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Mr. Abdullahi Sabo, praised the initiative, noting its immediate and lasting impact on public health in the area and urging residents to prioritize their health by utilizing the available services.

The program has been widely appreciated by the community and aims to inspire similar initiatives across West Africa, enhancing healthcare for vulnerable populations and fostering collaboration between local governments and healthcare providers.
