Elizade University, Ilara Mokin, Ondo State, has announced the graduation of 484 students across its 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions, with 51 students earning first-class honours.

Speaking ahead of the university’s eighth and ninth convocation ceremonies, Vice Chancellor Professor Kayode Ijadunola outlined the degrees awarded, with 228 undergraduates for the 2022/2023 session and 256 for 2023/2024, alongside 74 graduate degrees, including postgraduate diplomas, master’s, M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees.

Highlighting university growth, Ijadunola shared recent advancements, including the launch of new postgraduate programs in engineering, law, and architecture, approved by the NUC to commence in 2024/2025.

However, he noted challenges such as rising electricity costs and professional brain drain impacting Nigerian institutions. Despite these hurdles, he emphasized the university’s resilience.

In addition, Elizade University will award honorary doctorates to businesswoman Mrs. Folorunso Alakija and oil and gas entrepreneur Chief Tunde Afolabi during the convocation.
