The 1994 alumni of Government Secondary School (GSS) Garki, Area 10, marked their 30-year reunion with a charitable initiative, awarding scholarships to 20 underprivileged students and donating a speaker system to the school. The reunion event, themed “Building Patriotic Leaders for Tomorrow,” took place on Friday and was led by Mr. Jiboku Abayomi, who presented the scholarships on behalf of alumni president Mr. Festus Udoebor.
Dr. Peter Olumuji, Chairman of the Planning Committee, addressed students on the importance of patriotism, urging them to foster national pride and work toward Nigeria’s progress. He discussed challenges to patriotism, such as economic hardships and social media’s negative influence, encouraging students to seek mentors and focus on their potential roles in Nigeria’s future development.
The alumni’s gesture, combining scholarships with a message of patriotism, reflects their dedication to supporting education and inspiring young leaders committed to Nigeria’s growth and unity.
