Landmark University recently held its 11th Convocation Ceremony, themed “The Release of Pathfinders 2024,” at the Multipurpose Hall in Omu Aran.

Presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kolawole O. Ajanaku, the event celebrated the achievements of the graduating class, highlighted by a record-breaking number of First Class graduates, marking a new milestone for the institution in academic excellence.

In his address, Prof. Ajanaku commended the graduating class for their dedication, noting, “Today, we celebrate our highest number of First Class graduates since the inception of Landmark University, a testament to our relentless pursuit of academic excellence.”

He provided an overview of the graduating class, stating that among the 617 undergraduates, 283 received Second Class Upper, 252 achieved Second Class Lower, and 11 earned Third Class degrees. Additionally, the ceremony conferred 61 postgraduate degrees, including 11 Ph.D.s, six Master’s, and 11 Postgraduate Diplomas.

Landmark’s recent recognition in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings was also celebrated, with the university ranking 2nd in Nigeria, 3rd in West Africa, and 11th in Sub-Saharan Africa. “For the first time, Landmark has entered the world rankings, emerging as a strong contender in Research Environment and Research Quality,” Ajanaku noted. Attendees included Chancellor Dr. David Oyedepo, Pastor Mrs. Faith Oyedepo, and other esteemed members of the Board of Regents, who joined in honoring the graduates and their accomplishments.
