President Bola Tinubu has emphasized the need to convert the long-standing diplomatic relations between Nigeria, France, China, and Denmark into economic opportunities that directly benefit citizens, especially in education, health, and infrastructure.

Speaking at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, he received Letters of Credence from French Ambassador Marc Fonbaustier, Danish Ambassador Jens Ole Bach Hansen, and Chinese Ambassador Yu Dunhai, and he outlined Nigeria’s open-door policy for international investment.

During his discussion with the French Ambassador, President Tinubu expressed gratitude for his personal relationship with President Emmanuel Macron and assured his commitment to expand economic diplomacy with France. With his upcoming state visit to Paris, Tinubu aims to seek French support for Nigeria’s ongoing reforms that are designed to strengthen institutions and improve citizens’ livelihoods. Ambassador Fonbaustier praised the President’s achievements and affirmed France’s commitment to fostering economic partnerships with Nigeria, calling Tinubu’s leadership a “bold step forward.”

In his meeting with Chinese Ambassador Yu, Tinubu thanked China for hosting him at the recent Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). He urged the Chinese government to ensure swift implementation of trade and infrastructure agreements, adding that Nigeria would continue to learn from China’s advancements in these sectors.

Ambassador Yu echoed the longstanding respect and equity in Nigeria-China relations, noting that China has launched programs in Nigerian states to improve agricultural yields, healthcare, and technical education. President Tinubu also met with Denmark’s Ambassador Hansen, commending Denmark’s democratic values and renewable energy expertise and inviting further collaboration in sectors that improve citizens’ lives, including education and healthcare.
