The Edo State government, led by Governor Godwin Obaseki, is set to inaugurate Nigeria’s first Teachers’ Hall of Fame, celebrating the pivotal role of educators in society.

Edo State’s Commissioner for Education, Dr. Joan Osa Oviawe, praised the governor’s innovative approach to education, which has made the state a leader in educational reform.

The Teachers’ Hall of Fame, a component of the EdoBEST 2.0 initiative, aims to honor exceptional educators, restore the teaching profession’s prestige, and inspire future generations.

Strategically located within the Edo State Ministry of Education, the Hall of Fame will serve as a testament to the state’s commitment to valuing education. Dr. Oviawe noted that this recognition aligns with EdoBEST 2.0’s mission to foster a culture that respects and appreciates teaching as a noble profession.

Additionally, the state government is enhancing teachers’ benefits to further elevate the profession’s appeal and provide lasting support to educators. Dr. Oviawe lauded Governor Obaseki’s lasting impact on education, noting that Edo State’s reforms are setting a benchmark nationwide, with other states beginning similar initiatives inspired by EdoBEST’s success.
