The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, in partnership with Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP), has conducted a comprehensive workshop to train 500 teachers on modern digital learning approaches.

Held at Queen Elizabeth Secondary School in Ilorin, the training targeted teachers from five Local Government Areas—Moro, Ilorin West, Ilorin South, Oyun, and Offa—as part of a state-wide initiative to integrate digital learning and improve educational quality across Kwara.

Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, described the initiative as a shift from analog to digital learning, emphasizing its importance for continuous access to quality education. She noted that the training aligns with the global push for digital literacy and enhances teachers’ capabilities in using digital tools to improve classroom engagement. Modibbo Kawu urged teachers to apply the knowledge gained in their classrooms to benefit students and further the state’s educational development.

UNICEF Education Officer Bala Dada lauded the initiative, explaining that the NLP program, developed in partnership with Microsoft and other stakeholders, is designed to provide teachers with access to Nigeria’s educational curriculum from any location.
