Southern Taraba Youths, in partnership with the Jukun Youths and Cultural Development Association, have issued a counter-petition supporting Professor Ayuba’s appointment as Chief Medical Director of the Federal University Wukari Teaching Hospital.

They argue that his qualifications and vast experience as a medical consultant, academic, and practitioner make him the best candidate for the role.

The groups emphasized that the federal government’s decision to prioritize merit over regional considerations aligns with its mission to strengthen healthcare leadership. They stressed that focusing on qualifications rather than local affiliations is essential for the advancement of the healthcare sector in Nigeria.

Despite criticism from some groups, who argued that Ayuba’s fourth-place ranking in the interview process was unjust, the youth organizations reaffirmed their support. They stated that the appointment reflects the federal government’s commitment to prioritizing national healthcare goals and advancing the country’s healthcare system through competent leadership.
