The Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board has allocated N1 billion in loans for primary and secondary school teachers to pursue advanced degrees, aiming to enhance education quality across the state.

Executive Secretary Yaya Ibrahim, speaking at the 2nd Annual National Conference 2024 organized by the National Teachers’ Institute, explained that the initiative addresses teachers’ reluctance to further their education due to financial constraints. Talks are also underway with international institutions to offer opportunities for overseas studies.

In a related effort to modernize education, the board has sponsored at least 50 female students to study cybercrime and ICT abroad, and introduced skills training programs in primary schools to foster self-reliance among students. Ibrahim praised NTI’s conference as an important platform for collaboration, emphasizing the board’s commitment to strengthening teacher training in Kaduna.
