The National Universities Commission (NUC) has completed its second assessment visit to the proposed New City University in Ogun State, noting significant improvements.
The university’s promoter, Mr. Akin Akingbesote, highlighted an 80% campus transformation since June, including new landscaping, sports facilities, and specialized equipment for the Faculty of Nursing.
Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye, Chairman of the Implementation Committee, expressed confidence in gaining NUC approval, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence. Prof. Yemi Akinseye-George praised the founder’s dedication to integrity, anticipating the university will foster character and entrepreneurial skills in its students.
NUC official Alhaji Rasheed Mustapha acknowledged the marked improvements, rating the university above 70% in readiness and encouraging further support from staff to ensure robust service delivery.
