The Joint Security Commission for Oyo and Ogun states has reassured residents of enhanced security along major highways and border areas during the festive season and beyond.

Following a stakeholder meeting at Dominion University, officials emphasized ongoing collaboration between security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Police, Amotekun, and the NSCDC, to curb criminal activities on highways connecting both states.

Representatives, including CP Fatai Owoseni (retd) from Oyo and AIG Olusola Subair (retd) from Ogun, highlighted improvements in security since the commission’s formation two years ago. They noted that recent measures have minimized incidents on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and other major routes, instilling greater public confidence ahead of the holidays.

The commission urged residents to stay vigilant and make use of the states’ communication networks to report any suspicious activities. Additionally, both state governments have enhanced interconnectivity for swift information sharing, bolstered by collaborative efforts with the DAWN Commission to secure the entire Southwest region.
