A violent clash between students of Government High School and Government Day Secondary School, Adeta, on Monday left over 10 students injured, causing panic in the area.

Eyewitnesses reported that the fight, which began around 11:00 am, stemmed from a previous disagreement and escalated into a suspected reprisal attack. Some attributed the altercation to cult-related supremacy battles among the students.

Police spokeswoman DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed the incident, revealing that several suspects were arrested during the intervention. “Investigations are ongoing to determine the root cause,” she said.

The Ministry of Education’s Press Secretary, Peter Amogbonjaye, noted that an official statement would soon be issued regarding the incident.
