The management of Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) has distanced itself from claims by Bernard Odoh, the sacked Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), regarding his alleged appointment and promotion at the institution.

FUGUS Registrar, Yakubu Anivbassa, described documents paraded by Mr. Odoh as “products of administrative fraud,” alleging collusion with the university’s former vice-chancellor and registrar.

Anivbassa clarified that Odoh was never employed by FUGUS and dismissed claims of his tenure as a professor, adding that certification of his documents violated the Evidence Act, 2011.

“Dr. Odoh’s assertions are desperate attempts to legitimize a fraudulent claim for the UNIZIK vice-chancellor position,” Anivbassa stated.

The controversy has sparked discussions on the need for accountability in university recruitment processes.
