Four secondary school teenagers have been arrested in Adamawa State for raping a 17-year-old girl.
The four suspected rapist, all between the ages of 16 and 17, were picked up by operatives of the state command of the Nigeria Police on charges of criminal conspiracy and rape of a minor.
The suspects allegedly conspired and raped the victim by first intoxicating her with large quantity of beer.
“The Adamawa State Police command has on Sunday, 24th November, 2024 apprehended and brought into custody four persons,” the police said in a statement signed on Monday by SP Suleiman Nguroje, the command’s spokesman.
“During the course of investigation, the suspects confessed committing the crime, having unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim one after another,” he said.
The four suspects are identified as Sukari Mathew, 16 years old, Collins Cambull, 16 years old, Barnabas Simon, 17 years, and Ferdinand Mathew, 17 years.
Suspects are students of Government Secondary School Sugu, in the Ganye Local Government Area of southern Adamawa.
